Welcome!

It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Jefferson County at the Birmingham and Bessemer courthouses since 2001. During those years, I have heard over 4000 adoptions, 6500 adult mental health cases and approximately 12,000 wills, decedent estates and trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, condemnations, legitimations, name changes, petitions to sell real estate and settlements of estates.

I have also served as the Chief Election Official for Jefferson County and have overseen Special House, Senate and Jefferson County Commission elections, the 2004 and 2008 primaries and Presidential elections (the largest elections in the history of Jefferson County), the 2010 primaries and Governor’s elections, and three recounts.

I wish to thank my wife, Karen, and my two children, Kendall and Taylor, for their support through the years. To do this job properly, which includes both judicial and administrative responsibilities as a department head in both Bessemer and Birmingham, there is a substantial time commitment on many nights and weekends.

I spend time on a regular basis in communities throughout the county each year, and I look forward to seeing many old friends and to meeting new ones during the coming months.

I respectfully ask for your vote in 2012.
